The Birth Partnership was born one day in a coffee shop. We were discussing the joys of water birth alongside the frustration of not being able to get birth pool hires locally. Realising there were a lot of people all over the country with a vision to make water birth more accessible but without the finances to purchase hundreds of pounds worth of pools, liners and kits; we decided to go ahead and launch the franchise system for The Birth Partnership.

Midwife & Doula trained
Our staff proudly boast previous training and working as Midwives and Doulas, giving us a large knowledge base to offer advice and guidance on all aspects of your home birth plans and pool hire.
NHS-guideline cleaning
Operating from our beautiful rural location, we inflate all pools upon return, clean and leave inflated for 12 hrs before cleaning a second time, then re-package. We use recommended chemical cleaners Tristel and Clinell. All electric and submersible pumps are PAT tested for each hire.
Supporting birth professionals
We are proud to be working alongside the new Midwifery training centres and supporting water birth training for Birth Professionals. Our Birth Pool hire services and equipment are all covered under our full insurance policy.

To maximise your Birth Pool hire period we aim to deliver your Birthing pool to you around 36 weeks. You will receive an email from our hire department with a dispatch date within 1 working day of placing your order.
Our birth pool hire prices include a single return to UK Mainland. If you require a Saturday delivery there is an additional cost. Simply select this option at checkout.
We update our website regularly as we are seeing huge demand for our hires. If you can put the item in your basket & proceed to checkout - it is in stock. If you cannot see anything in stock for your dates please do get in touch via phone or via the website.
Of course. There is an 'additional accessories' category on the website for water birth products available alongside your birth pool hire. These will be shipped FOC with your Birth Pool hire and come under the standard distance selling regulations.

The hire period is maximum 6 weeks. We usually dispatch around 36 weeks, covering the period until 42 weeks. However we fully understand babies have their own timetables and if baby still hasn't arrived within a couple of days of the hire return date please just get in touch with us and we can extend the hire free of charge.
If you take delivery of your birth pool / TENS then your hire has begun. As you have purchased a service from us in the form of a hire, we are unable to offer any refunds regardless of use - please bear this in mind when ordering.
Our Birth pools are shipped in heavy duty shipping containers that are re-used for returning your Birth pool. We ask you to arrange a collection / drop-off your birth pool within 48 hours of baby's arrival for hygiene reasons. We use Parcelforce for our returns. Your hire kit will be sent out with a returns label and full instructions on how to book your collection. Alternatively, you can take the crate to your local Post Office using the same returns label. If you hired a TENS alongside your pool please return it in the crate with the pool. We are unable to offer a time for collections. If you lose your returns label there may be a charge for a replacement.
Simply pop the hire kit in the returns envelope provided and take to a Post Office. The envelope will have a Royal Mail pre-paid label attached. Keep your drop-off receipt until you receive an email from us confirming receipt of the hire kit.
